The frustration of it all

So the finals finished yesterday and I think I've certainly done enough (or not enough, with all the questions I skipped) to screw my math and dynamics papers. And I thought of attending grad school...pfft!

Anyways, taking an idea from yeelyn's blog, I've decided to scratch out some things in my fifteen year plans too, among them: "getting my ass to America and never look back" and "joining the Marines". Think of it as a modification to 'Rancangan Weiyang ke-2'. "Joining the navy" is still there in the list though. Too bad.

A Tribute

So I mentioned in one of my previous posts that it's the exam season and I won't be posting for quite some time, but I guess there are exceptions to be made....like when a friend sent me a text message a couple of days ago to inform me that his mother had passed away. To be frank, the news shocked me. I mean, I knew that his mother was sick and down with cancer, but I never expected her to go. And certainly not this quickly. Yes, for a moment everything was almost surreal. I didn't even know how to reply to his sms. This guy...he was a good friend of mine; one of only a few Malay guys I could really have a great conversation with. A great guy all round whom I went on debating trips with, even all the way to Teluk Intan once. Those were the good old days...back then you'd never expect that he'd lose his mother in such a way. It's one of those situations that you'd think won't happen to anyone near you. Y'know, situations that you think would only happen to somebody's somebody but never expect it to hit this close to home. If I'm feeling sad for him right now, I can't imagine what it must be like for him, his siblings and his father.

To my friend's mom: Rest in Peace. I never met you when you were alive, but I'm sure you must have been a great mother to have raised such a fine son.

Spotting, 1 April 2006

Went spotting with fellow Kuching spotters Delwin and Nick on April Fool's day in what was a great weekend, topped off by a call for an interview for Singapore Airlines. Haha...haven't even completed the first round of interviews and already I'm dreaming of flying Singapore 22 Heavy to Newark...

This is probably gonna be my last entry for the next 3 weeks or so because the dreaded final exam season has started. Pictures in series from bottom up, 737, F50 and finally the widebody A330:

Spotting, 24 March 2006

Three hour spotting on 24th March. Not much, just a few 737s:
