Belated Postcards from Sabah
Got back from Sabah only to face a tiring and hectic week. But now that I'm back in Taiping, it's time to blog. So here goes, photos from the Sabah trip. First, the personal ones:
Yours truly, in the place he's always wanted to be in. And almost got it.
Quay, looking weird from this angle:
Our room at Summer Lodge, KK. RM18 a night. Cheap and good...cos there's a/c and hot showers!
The Unimas bunch for the Borneo Cup this year
With Mr Sabu at the marble hallways of UMS's Dewan Canselor. Too bad Veenna wasn't in the pic though.
Horses on the way to the airport. Don't look at me. Veenna wanted me to take this!
Kuching seen on the flight home. You can see Saberkas and other landmarks...
Orbis' DC-10-10 was still at KCH when I arrived. This was the second DC-10 to be built according to some folks at malaysianwings.com. What an honor to see such an old bird face to face!
And the Borneo Cup? Well we got into the semis and that was good enough for me. I have lotsa stuff to say about the whole tournament though. Stuff I'm not gonna post here.
Coming up next: Spotting on the way home to Taiping. Plane-o-phobics, beware...
Managed to get into the cockpit after the plane landed, and for the first time the Captain actually allowed us to take a seat! Had a nice, short chat with the expat Aussie FO too. Don't give up on your dream, he says. Encouraging words indeed. Anyways, seen here is Suren chatting with the very experienced Capt Mahmud.

Now for the not-so-personal sights during my trip. Sights I thought would look nice with the border.
